California Natural is a product of the Natura Pet Product Company. The company was founded in 1989 in Santa Clara, California. All of the ingredients used are of human grade quality, meaning we would feel comfortable eating them! The meats are all USDA inspected and they use only whole grains in their pet food products.

In the Fall of 2008 Eagle Pack pet foods was purchased by Berwind Corporation, a venture capital company, and merged into a new company called WellPet, which also owns Wellness.

Evanger's is a small company in Illinois with a 70 year reputation for making pet foods from the finest, natural ingredients. The company fervently believes that our pets' health and the health of their offspring are dependent on wholesome, nutritious food - food without any preservatives and free of harmful additives. Evanger's pet food has been approved as Kosher by the Chicago Rabbinical Council.

Innova and Innova Evo dry and canned foods for dogs and cats are made by the Natura Pet Products Company. They use only ingredients we would feel comfortable eating: quality meats, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and complete vitamin and mineral supplements. Natura believes that a diet of natural, wholesome food is essential to living a long healthy life, whether human or animal. There foods are formulated with ingredients from the five major food groups: protein, dairy, vegetable, fruit and grain. All of their formulas have at least two meat sources.

Merrick offers a full line of holistic canned food for both dogs and cats and holistic dry food for dogs. Dry formulas for cats are currently under development. All of the formulas are suitable for pets of all life stages and are made from human-grade ingredients.

If our pets could read the list of ingredients in these gourmet foods, it would make their mouths water! Unlike low-end canned pet foods, the content look and smell very appealing. Three of the canned formulas; Turducken™, "Grammy's Pot Pie™," and Thanksgiving Day Dinner™ were selected as Best Pet Food of the Year for 2006 by The Glycemic Research Institute in Washington, D.C., which may make them appropriate choices for diabetic pets (ask your veterinarian).

The company started making pet food in 1964 and has gone through many transitions and for a time was sold to other companies. In 2001 the Nelson family bought the company back and in 2003 entered the super-premium pet food business with their NutriSource line for dogs and cats. They introduced the Natural Planet Organic pet foods in the summer 2007. Natural Planet Organics dog food has been recommended by The Whole Dog Journal since 2008.

Pro Pac® is a product of Midwestern Pet Foods, a family owned company based in Southern Indiana.

The chicken meal Pro Pac® uses in its foods is of high quality. Furthermore, there are no added by-products in any of the formulas. Pro Pac diets are designed to be easily digestible, good for the skin and coat, and good for your pet's teeth.

Pure Vita™ is a product of KLN Enterprises, a family-owned company in Perham, Minnesota. In 2001 the Nelson family bought the company back and in 2003 entered the super-premium pet food business with their NutriSource line for dogs and cats. They introduced the Pure Vita foods in July of 2008 and less than a year later all three Pure Vita formulas made The Whole Dog Journals list of recommended foods.

Steve's Real Food for Pets is a frozen raw diet for dogs and cats made from 100% human quality, unprocessed, fresh, ingredients. They were the first raw food diet sold in the USA and are the number one selling raw diet.

All of Steve's formulas consist of three parts; muscle and organ meat (60% for dogs, 81% for cats), fruits and vegetables (38% for dogs, 15% for cats), and a special blend of modern "functional foods" and nutrients such as vitamin E, sardines, anchovies, flaxseed oil, and kelp etc. for optimal balance and nutrition (2% for dogs, 4% for cats). Wysong is owned and run by veterinarian, Dr. Randy Wysong. He readily admits that processed foods, even Wysong's, are only second best to what nature provides. Wysong now offers their food in a variety pack to make it convenient to routinely alternate your dog's diet.
