Green Acres Receives ABKA VFA Accreditation

 

Green Acres Kennel Shop has been accredited by the American Boarding Kennel Association (ABKA) through the ABKA Voluntary Facilities Accreditation (VFA) program. As one of only 89 ABKA accredited kennels in the US, we proudly display our ABKA VFA Blue Ribbon signifying the ABKA’s “stamp of approval.” This distinction was achieved after demonstrating compliance with over 200 detailed requirements established by the ABKA during an on-site inspection by a trained VFA evaluator.

The ABKA’s VFA program represents a significant advance in the professionalization of the pet care industry. It institutes nationally-accepted standards of design and performance for pet care facilities. These standards were developed over a six-year period by a working committee of ABKA members which included pet care facility operators, pet owners, veterinarians and animal care experts.

ABKA is the nonprofit trade association for pet care providers and is dedicated to upgrading the pet care industry and to educating the public about proper pet care. All members of ABKA subscribe to the ABKA Code of Ethics and the Bill of Rights for Pets in Boarding and Daycare Facilities and agree to be governed by the standards of conduct specified in those documents in all aspects of their professional lives.
