Featured Product -NutriSource Adult Chicken & Rice Formula

Save $3!!!

It was just a year ago that we introduced the NutriSource family of pet foods (NutriSource, Natural Planet Organics & Pure Vita) to the Bangor area. Many of you have been feeding the NutriSource products and taking advantage of our NutriSource frequent buyer program. This month we had an opportunity to purchase a pallet of NutriSource Adult Chicken and Rice formula at a discounted rate. We want to pass that savings on to you. So while supplies last, discounted bags will have a coupon attached. You can purchase a 33lb bag of NutriSource Adult Chicken and Rice formula and get $3 off. To give everyone a chance, coupons are limited to one per household.

If you go to the NutriSource website (www. http://www.nutrisourcedogfood.com/) or their Facebook page between August 16th and September 6th, you can print a coupon good for one free can of NutriSource dog or cat food, when you buy a can.

Green Acres Named Best Kennel and Best Pet Store

Thanks to you, once again Market Surveys of America (MSA) has named Green Acres Kennel Shop the “Best Kennel” and the “Best Pet Store” in the greater Bangor region. This marks the ninth year in a row that we have had the distinction of being voted the Best Kennel and the fourth year in a row for the Best Pet Store honor. MSA advised us that we also received several votes for Best Dog Training, which was not an official category, but one they may add next year due to all the votes we received. We appreciate your patronage and your taking the time to vote for us.

August – The Whole Dog Journal

Have you read The Whole Dog Journal yet? We’ve been subscribers for years and are now pleased to be able to offer it to you in the store for $5.95 per issue. Like Consumer Reports, Parenting and Science and Technology all rolled into one for the pet dog guardian, the focus of this informational newsletter is natural dog care and training.

The August issue includes articles on; What to do when your dog “puts on the brakes,” how to reform a dedicated leash-puller, annual veterinary exams versus annual vaccines and Tellington Touch or TTouch.
Check it out! We think you will like The Whole Dog Journal as much as we do!

Web Sites We Like

In our May newsletter I told you about a fun new web site I had found called Draw the Dog (http://drawthedog.com/). This site features a new dog-based cartoon every day, almost always based on real dogs, from photographs people send to the cartoonist, Jim George. I like it so much that I have subscribed. There is no charge, and a link to the day’s cartoon is emailed to me every day. I’ve even had two of my favorite photographs of two of our pets turned into cartoons.
