Level 3 Dog Training Classes

Good Citizen & Therapy Dog Level 3)
Prerequisite: Basic Manners, AND Manners for the Real World AND approval of the instructor.
This course expands on the material presented in our Manners for the Real World class and focuses on preparing you and your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test or the Therapy Dog International test. We add new distractions for the dogs while increasing our expectations for recalls and stays. The fee for Good Citizen & Therapy Dog is $125.
Dogs enrolling in this class should be able to: SIT and DOWN on a single verbal or hand cue within 2-4 seconds, STAY for 10-20 seconds when no distractions are present, RECALL from 20 ft with no distractions and WALK POLITELY for 10 ft without distractions. It is imperative that dogs enrolled in this class are friendly around all other dogs and people. We recommend that dogs in the Good Citizen & Therapy Dog class be at least 10 months of age.
This course is 8 weeks in length and meets once a week for 45-50 minutes. The first session will be our Advanced Clicker Training Seminar, a two and a half hour advanced orientation without your dog. Even though you attended this session for your Manners for the Real World class, we encourage you to attend again.
