See Spot Live Longer™ Homemade Dinner MixesGreen Acres is proud to carry See Spot Live Longer™ Homemade Dinner Mixes. When combined with fresh meat (lightly cooked or raw) they offer your dog a diet that closely matches that of his canine ancestors. Developed by Steve Brown, the creator of Steve’s Real Food for Pets and Charlee Bear treats, each envelope of See Spot Live Longer contains mineral- rich foods and quality supplements to ensure the optimum amounts of minerals – from both a natural or “prey-model diet” perspective, and following the recommendations from the National Research Council (2006, Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats) and AAFCO nutrient profiles. You can add only the meat and have a great meal. Or, if desired at times, you can add, up to 20% by volume of the meal, freshly ground vegetables and other whole foods. For more information, see http://www.seespotlivelonger.com. Steve recommends mixing each envelope of See Spot Live Longer™ Homemade Dinner Mixes with one pound 85% lean meats – beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, venison and others. For puppies, who need more protein, he recommends using 90% lean meats. It is recommended to feed a variety of meats for optimum nutrition. The meat can be served raw or cooked. Either way, it makes a nutritious, mineral-rich, AAFCO-compliant, high-protein, low-carbohydrate, natural diet. 80% lean: mix one package (34 grams) with 3/4 pound of meat. Feed 3/4 of recommended amounts on package.
Ingredients: ground flax seed, dicalcium phosphate, porcine liver meal (preserved with natural mixed tocopherols), dried kelp, dried spinach, tomato pomace, calcium carbonate, canola oil, rice bran, sea salt, inulin, fish oil, sage, zinc polysaccharide complex, ά-tocopherol acetate, copper polysaccharide complex, tocopherols, manganese polysaccharide complex, thiamine, Vitamin D3 supplement Our Experience with See Spot Live Longer™ Homemade Dinner MixesWe have tried See Spot Live Longer (SSLL) with ground beef, turkey, and lamb, mixing the meat with 20% crushed vegetables. Since the meat was ground, we chose to cook it for safety reasons. We would not hesitate to use with raw, non-ground meat from a quality source. Both Tikken and Dulcie consumed SSLL with their usual passion. Based on what we paid for meat and veggies, the daily cost to feed a 50 pound dog is noted below.
