HistoryGreen Acres Kennel Shop was started in 1963 as a breeding kennel and gradually developed into a commercial boarding and grooming facility. In 1982 it was sold to Charles and Mary Jones. The Jones' built and expanded the business until today it is known and recommended by veterinarians and clients from the top of the state to Portland. Don and Paula Hanson purchased the business from the Jones' in October of 1995 and are continuing to expand its services and reputation. Green Acres has been recognized by the American Boarding Kennel Association (ABKA) and has been featured in the ABKA’s July/August 2002 issue of the Pet Services Journal. The 9-page, 12-photograph article, describes the Green Acres Kennel Shop facility and business practices and how they meet their commitment to quality pet care. Green Acres is 1 of 6 ABKA members to be recognized in this manner for 2002. In the article Don states “Our customers and our employees are our two greatest assets.” In the summer of 2007, Green Acres Kennel Shop became one of 89 kennels in the world to havethe American Boarding Kennel Associations VFA Accrediation. |
