Green Acres Kennel Shop has been recommending that guardians do NOT use shock collars for training and managing their dogs since we first addressed this practice in our newsletter of May 2004 (http://tiny.cc/H4CnT ) and again in our newsletter of June 2006 (http://tiny.cc/ytHIP ). The latest issue of Dog Sport magazine has addressed this issue in their current issue in an article by Angelica Steinker, M.Ed., PDBC, CDBC, NADOI Endorsed, CAP2.  In the article, Ms. Steinker does an excellent job of summarizing why shock collars are never a good choice for training a dog.
