An American Opera – The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever – coming to Belfast on August 2nd

Hurricane Katrina was a tragedy of epic proportions. Tom McPhee’s An America Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever is the multi-award winning documentary chronicling what happened during Hurricane Katrina when pet guardians were forced to evacuate without their pets. The film follows the pets, vets, guardians, officials, rescuers, and adopters of animals as they try to remedy the situation, revealing that not everyone had the same goal of saving animals. The Rescue Party Tour will be in Belfast at the Colonial Theater on August 2nd 2009. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Veterinary Study Indicates Aggressive (dominance-based) Training Causes Dog Aggression

An article published on ScienceDaily on 18FEB09 entitled If You’re Aggressive, Your Dog Will Be Too, Says Veterinary Study describes a study by veterinarians at the University of Pennsylvania. This study, published in Applied Animal Behavior Science demonstrated that when aggressive pets are trained with confrontational or aversive methods, they become more aggressive.
