Tune into The Woof Meow Show on Sunday November 29th when Kate and I will be talking with Norma Worley, Director of Maine’s Animal Welfare Program. We’ll discuss dog licensing and why your purchase of an annual dog license is so important to fighting animal cruelty in the State of Maine. We’ll also take about the licensing of dog breeders and boarding kennels. Lastly, we will be announcing a special promotion for those of you that chose to license your dog early, between November 30th and December 18th.

Green Acres Announces Dog Training Classes for 2010

We are now accepting registrations for those wishing to enroll in our dog training classes for 2010. We are offering five classes; Puppy Headstart on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons, Basic Manners on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, Level 2: Out and About, Level 2: Glad to See You on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, and a Level 3: CGC/TDI Workshop offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Our training staff of six Certified Professional Dog Trainers collectively possess over sixty-five years of combined training experience. Our Puppy Headstart and Basic Manners classes are each taught by a team of a Lead Instructor and Assistant, providing one instructor per 3 dogs in class, ensuring that you get the attention you deserve.

We also a Help! Now! program. This is an individual one class program for those who have recently obtained a new dog that is too old for the Puppy Headstart class but need immediate assistance. We will help you with common areas of concern such as housetraining, chewing, jumping and rowdy behavior until such time that you can enroll in our Basic Manners class. This program is not designed to assess or deal with serious issues such as separation anxiety, fear or aggression. The cost for HELP! NOW! is $40 and is scheduled on an individual basis by calling us at 945-6841.
